CONNECTICUT GARDENS

Image
Connecticut , USA, is part of New England , in the northeast corner of the United States. That small state has what is called a humid continental climate, where the humidity comes from the Atlantic Ocean that it borders. Connecticut gets enough average precipitation to sustain a wide variety of plants. It is warm in the summer and cold in the winter, but the temperature extremes are moderated by the ocean. The state's history goes back to the founding of the nation. Many rural towns still have a 'green' - a grassy area that was used in the past for animal grazing. The gardens featured here were photographed during a trip to Stratford for the ' Stratfords of the World Reunion 2014 '. Thanks to Jack and Diane Hughes of Stratford who were very helpful in preparing an itinerary that would be feasible in just one day.
