ELIZABETH PARK
Elizabeth Park is located in West Hartford and has been open to the public since 1897.
The property was donated to the city by Charles Pond, a wealthy industrialist and statesman. He had requested that the property be turned into a garden and bear his wife's name, Elizabeth. It is listed in the National Register of Historic places.
The center piece of the park is the Rose Garden, with some 15,000 bushes including around 800 varieties. Photos below include the Medicine Garden and the Herb Garden. Many other features make this garden a magnificent green space in the middle of the city.
